Terrain: Forest of Fairies - A spoooooky forest in three tiers. The top two "floors" are constructed as wooden pathways suspended in the canopy, while the bottom is a small clearing on the forest floor. Mercenaries may freely descend and, provided they have the ability to do so, ascend floors. All enemies and items have been removed, and access beyond the Forest of Fairies is denied.

Jack King
The Jack Bros. are too close to let something like a one-mercenary contract keep them apart, so you get all three of them instead! The Jacks only count as a single slot for their mercenary team, though each is targeted separately by abilities. However, so they always remember who won their little game, Pyro Jack will permanently have access to a Burger King Crown, which he will refuse to give away for any reason. He may optionally start the match wearing this crown.
Jack and Jill
If an ability, attack, or anything else would make any of the Jack Bros. female, they'll all turn female and will be referred to as the "Jill Sisses". All instances of the word "Jack" in this model will temporarily be replaced with the word "Jill". This will mess up most of the other puns but shut up. Wherever this would result in the name of a noun not making sense, just pretend it's exactly the same as before, only more feminine.
Jackass
If any mercenaries named "Jack" besides the Jack Bros. are involved in the fight, a terrible pun will be made at their expense. This will have no effect on the fight other than a bad pun being made.
Virtual Bros.
The Virtual Boy was a failed experiment in many regards, but it was also the console that introduced Shin Megami Tensei to the international market thanks to Jack Bros. But it still wasn't very good. Every other day, the Jack Bros. may force a random enemy mercenary to do nothing but play Red Alarm on the Virtual Boy for five hours before the fight. I don't actually need to elaborate any further than that, do I?
Jumping Jack Flash
Every other day, a random mercenary on either side may suddenly get the urge to do jumping jacks. At the start of the fight, and after every minute, they will do jumping jacks for five seconds. The targeted mercenary will be invincible while doing jumping jacks in this way.
Additionally, eight goddamn soldiers as they appear in The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion will enter the fight as a neutral third party.
Jackanapes
Every day, the Jack Bros. may use any of the following abilities:
Jack of All Trades
Jack Frost is a spirit of English folklore, and is said to be responsible for bringing in the winter chill. He's also the mascot for both the Megami Tensei series and creator company ATLUS, so he's had a lot of different faces over the years. Jack Frost may take on the appearance of any Jack Frost who's appeared in any ATLUS game. If they have any special abilities, he will not gain access to them; he's still just regular ol' Jack Frost. Jack Frost cannot take on the appearance of Pyro Jack, Jack Skelton, King Frost, or Black Frost in this way.
Jack Be Nimble, Jack Be Quick
Pyro Jack is based on Jack O' Lantern, a wandering spirit of Irish folklore condemned to wander the earth after making a deal with the devil to avoid being taken to Hell. The light he carries is sometimes called the Will-O-Wisp, and is responsible for guiding him and leading others astray. The light in Pyro Jack's ol' lantern will never go out and will be visible in all conditions, whether it's clear, overcast, or full of magical, all-enshrouding darkness. Pyro Jack's light won't shine through solid objects, though. Don't be silly.
Jackknife
Jack Skelton is based on Jack the Ripper, the infamous serial killer who tormented the streets of London in the late 1880s. He's known for brutally murdering and mutilating the corpses of prostitutes, and his identity to this day is unknown. Jack Skelton's mere presence will unnerve any female mercenaries participating in the fight, allied and enemy alike. Not necessarily enough to make them afraid of him or enrage them or anything like that, mind you. They'll just be wary that they're fighting with - or against - a real, actual serial killer, is all.
Upgrades
Virtual Bros. (Ability Upgrade; 10 EXP)
- Every day
Jack Bros. (Character Upgrade; 13 EXP)
- Jack Frost gains Bufula, Mabufula, and Resist Fire, Pyro Jack gains Agilao, Maragion, and Resist Ice. Jack Skelton gets left out.
- Gains special attack called "Jack Bros." Jack Skelton will have to perform it, too, since he'd just feel even more left out otherwise.
Jack Bros. (Character Upgrade; 13 EXP and special attack called "Jack Bros." obtained)
- Jack Frost gains Bufudyne, Pyro Jack gains Agidyne, Jack Skelton gains Fatal End and Blade of Fury
- Gains special attack from... Persona 3, called "King and I". This includes summoning King Frost and Black Frost, though they only stick around for the attack.
- The Jack Bros. gain access to the Persona Bub, though they will never summon it and as such, it will have no effect on the battle.
Jackanapes (Ability Upgrade/New Abilities; 5x EXP) Obtained Twice
- This upgrade may be obtained multiple times, though only once per day.
- When this upgrade is first obtained, the three base abilities (Jack of All Trades, Jack Be Nimble, Jackknife) will no longer be restricted to one per day; all three effects may be used every day.
- For every subsequent upgrade, one of the following five abilities may be unlocked. Only one of these upgrade abilities may be used per day, though they do not share a recharge time.
Jacked Up
Every so often, the Jack Bros. may add the following effect to a preselected ability used this Wartime:
"In addition, the mercenary who activated this ability spent an extra half-hour before the fight working out. They will be slightly stronger and slightly more prepared for today's battle, both physically and mentally."
Doing so will give the targeted ability an extra day of recharge, though it won't count towards the ability cap if it didn't already. This ability will then go on recharge for as long as the targeted ability.
Jumping Jack Flash
I'm A Lumberjack, and I'm Okay
I sleep all night and I work all day! Every day, if there are any trees present in the fight, the Jack Bros. may work really hard and knock one of them over. The Jack Bros. cannot push the tree onto anyone; they're just knocking it down flat. The tree will start the fight shoved the hell over. The Jack Bros. will start the fight next to this tree, a little exhausted from the effort but proud of their work. Also each Jack will wear high-heels, suspenders, and a bra for today's fight. If "Jack and Jill" is in effect, they will instead all wear Mountie uniforms.
Jack My Swag
Every day, the Jack Bros. may decide the other mercenaries have some pretty cool/hot/killer outfits and decide to steal their look. Each Jack will enter the fight wearing a costume thematically similar to a preselected mercenary participating in the fight. These costumes present no tactical advantage or disadvantage; they're just regular clothing, and any weaponry/equipment they copy is a cheap replica. They will also attempt to act a little like the preselected mercenary, though this won't fool anyone. If this ability is used on Agahnim, Veran, Orox, Vaati, Zant, Ghirahim, or Cia, the Jack Bros. will instead dress up as Ganon.
They Call Me... Jack
Every day, the Jack Bros. may excitedly refer to a preselected mercenary as "Jack" over and over before the start of the fight. Their enthusiasm will convince the mercenary to go by the name "Jack" for the fight. They may use any appropriate variant of "Jack" if so desired - High Jack, Little Jack, War Jack, etc - excluding "Jack Frost", "Pyro Jack", "Jack [the] Ripper/Skelton", "Hairy Jack", or any other version of "John". If this ability is used on a mercenary already named "Jack", the Jack Bros. will reveal that they were referring to the monkey named "Jack", who will join the fight on the Jack Bros.' side.
Jack All (Character Upgrade; 9 EXP)
Upon acquiring this upgrade, the Jack Bros.' Merc Leader may distribute each of the following things freely among the Jack Bros., adding them permanently to their write-up. Only one Jack may start with each thing, though there's nothing stopping them from passing them off or leaving them behind if necessary.

I've Got Nothin' (New Abilities; 25 EXP)
Frigid Landscape
Hey, remember this ability? Probably not, but here it is anyway. Every three days, the Jacks may appeal to their King, who will ice over the entire terrain. Not only will conditions generally be colder, but light snow will fall. In addition, both teams will start in the main area of the terrain; any additional corridors or areas will be blocked by walls of ice. These ice walls may be broken by fighters. Voters must take into account the limited terrain and freezing temperatures.
Vile Intentions
A Jack Frost who remembers his true nature as a demon becomes a Black Frost. Once every three days, the Jacks may recall their own true natures, multiplying all their stats 2.5 times their bases. Jack Frost will become immune to Fire attacks, Pyro Jack will become immune to Ice attacks, and Jack Skelton will heal from all physical attacks. They'll also look significantly scarier, like they do in that second picture on the left there, and will be classified as "Evil" for ability purposes if they weren't already. Their Persona will also change to Bob, though they still won't be able to summon it.
Classification: Party, Projectiles (Frost/Pyro), Swordsman (Skelton), Utility
Bio:
- Three Mercs for just a single point! A dozen different effects! For your points, this is one of the most efficient ways of building your team's numbers.
- You're looking for trends, not outliers, with the different Jacks' ability sets. So, even though Jack Frost might've had Hama in one game, or Pyro Jack might've had Mind Charge in another game, they don't have them here.
- What this leaves is a trio of very simple fighters. In addition to signature elemental affinities, Jack Frost has minor healing, defense buffs, and weak punching; while Pyro Jack has offensive buffs, a sleep spell (that's fairly inaccurate but works by attacking enemies' nervous system), and the ability to remove status conditions. Jack Skelton (or Ripper, if you prefer) is the odd one out, with the ability to buff and debuff movement speed, briefly stun foes, and an enhanced ability to run away, but no ranged attacks to speak of. He does, however, provide a decent melee option with his razor blade.
- None of them are particularly durable, of course, but Jack Frost healing from Ice and Pyro Jack healing from Fire makes 'em last a little longer than they would otherwise. Their use is in complementing each other and the rest of the team with their abilities, so they're not likely to make or break a given fight, just add a little extra strength to their side.
- The Jack Bros. offer an awful lot of utility, what with their array of silly abilities and upgrades. But you probably shouldn't try to get them all. Figure out which ones work best with your team composition, but don't build a team around them.
